[Darien, CT, December 2009] The Darien Dynamos, a new Darien-based BNI group, is off to an incredibly strong start. The group received its charter this past September after reaching the required 25 membership level in record time; the BNI group was started just a few months earlier in May by Makenna Flagg, a Financial Planner located in Darien. While most towns in the area support one to three BNI groups, the Darien Dynamos is Darien’s first BNI chapter and has become the fastest growing BNI Group in Fairfield County. To date, the Darien Dynamos has 32 members comprised of small business and professionals from Darien and neighboring towns in New Canaan, Norwalk, Greenwich and Stamford.
BNI is a business networking organization that provides a structured and supportive system of giving and receiving business leads and generating positive word of mouth and introductions. Studies have shown that word-of-mouth referrals are the strongest and largest source of business leads. Last year, BNI members across the country passed over two million referrals, generating more than a billion dollars in business for members. One of the key reasons for BNI’s success is the granting of exclusivity within a professional classification or specialty in each chapter. No two members within a local BNI group can vie for the same target audience and leads. This exclusivity results in cooperation among members rather than competition.
The Darien Dynamos meets every Tuesday morning at 7:30 am at the DCA, 274 Middlesex Road, Darien, CT and visitors are welcome. If interested, please contact Makenna Flagg, 203 202-2117, mflagg@makennandcompany.com
