3.4.1 Studios celebrates 10 years with new look!

Ten years ago, Darien-based 3.4.1 Studios launched with three partners, as the company's name alludes to every client having three graphic designers working for it. Fast forward to 2010, and the company has grown from three partners to 16 professionals.

Another development in the past 10 years includes the company's client list now containing a variety of businesses and nonprofit organizations across Fairfield and Westchester counties and Manhattan. The firm's new Web site, 341studios.com, showcases everything from logos and taglines, to integrated marketing campaigns, to Web sites with animation, search engine optimization, and social media communications.

The marketing firm also has a new logo and tagline — "where fresh intelligence meets bold design." The company also just received an American Marketing Association award.

3.4.1 Studios is composed of designers, marketing strategists, copywriters, and Web and e-communications specialists who have worked with companies such as Apple, Xerox, HBO, Citibank, General Electric, and John Hancock. Founding partners Felicia Rubinstein and Gretchen Bruno are based in Darien. However, the firm's professionals are linked through multiple technologies to form a virtual office.
 
Some of the company's clients in the Darien area have included Baywater Properties, Moore Centers, Darien Technology and Community Foundation, the Community Fund of Darien, and Beacon Wealth Consulting.
 
Recent 3.4.1 projects include creating brand identity, collateral and a Web site for a newly launched printer services company — which netted 3.4.1 an American Marketing Association award; rebranding and revising the Web site for an industry leader in flexible work placements; and a marketing makeover for a growing national fulfillment company.
 
Technology has played a significant role in the growth of 3.4.1 Studios. Mary Callahan, a principal partner and 3.4.1's technology specialist said, "Three years ago we made an investment in an online project management system so that we could speed up feedback and response. With a click of their mouse, our clients can access PDF files with proposed designs  and e-mail threads all on one site. Now everyone connected with the project knows exactly where we are in the process and can see key milestones."
 
Technology has also affected the marketing tactics that 3.4.1 offers. Over the past few years, 3.4.1 has added experts in e-communications for electronic newsletters, banner ads and e-mail blasts, as well in social media forums like blogs, Twitter and Facebook.
 
"When we first started out, there were just three of us. Now we have so many talented specialists to support our clients, but changing our name to ‘More than 16 for 1' would be a mouthful," Rubinstein said.
