The recent spate of layoffs and closures has given rise to a flurry of new boutique financial service firms. In order to get their companies launched, these financial entrepreneurs are turning to specialized branding firms such as 341 Studios, a Darien-based graphic design and marking firm.
Newly formed firms can put together their management team, business concept, even their office space, but it's hard to get in the door without a business card.
"We are often the first call after the lawyer and accountant," said Gretchen Bruno, 341's founding co-partner and lead designer. "Every company needs an image to 'announce' who they are.'" 341 has added six new financial firms to its wide-ranging client roster since the recession started.
