Here are 3 suggestions for staying on target with your Eblast marketing, and improving your chance of getting read!
1. Subject line: keep it under 45 characters, and keep it interesting!
This is the first thing readers see, and the reason they open. Avoid words like “Sale, Free, 50% Off” – those are sure to get caught by the spam filters. Think of interesting teasers (like a tweet), that would entice subscribers to open and read on!
2. Keep your message “Above the Fold”
Most email viewers only see about 600 px x 400 px. Keep the important stuff above the 400 mark. Special offers and the main “Call to Action” link should be high up on the page.
3. Call To Action > Landing Page > Conversion!
For most Eblasts, driving traffic to your site is the goal. Be sure your Call To Action is clear and obvious (usually, this is a link you’re asking subscribers to follow!) Try giving just a teaser of your message, and send readers to a special Landing Page using “Read More” links. The Goal should be to drive subscribers to your site, where they can find more information easily, and “Convert” into a sale or customer!
