We’ll be the first to admit: we watch the Super Bowl for the commercials as much as for the game. Every year we’re curious to see if the latest, and probably more expensive, commercials will knock last year’s out of the park (excuse the wrong sport reference). Realizing the increasing demand to watch and vote/comment on Super Bowl ads, numerous websites instantly offer a compilation of the best and worst. Personally, we thought the Chrysler “It’s Halftime in America”, Camry Effect “Connections”, and The Voice “Vocal Kombat” commercials had the biggest impact, but as we in the marketing business all know, it’s not so much which commercial had the better storyline or biggest budget, it’s which created the most positive buzz for the company. In today’s world of infinite social media connections, the buzz from one Twitter feed, Facebook page, or blog can create a massive viral effect of responses, which ultimately increases the company’s brand awareness and generates sales. Here we share with you the top ten commercials that generated the most positive buzz during this year’s Super Bowl according to the Huffington Post:
- H&M – David Beckham
- Chevy – Apocalypse
- McDonald’s – Ronald McDonald House
- Hyundai – All For One
- Audi – Vampire Camp
- Pepsi – King’s Court
- M&M – Sexy and I Know It
- Honda CRV – Ferris Bueller
- Acura NSX – Transactions
- Dannon Oikos – The Tease
Did your favorite commercials make the list? Let us know which ones you thought were the most entertaining and effective, and if they changed your perspective of the brands.

I personally loved all of the hits but also thought that the Teleflorist Ad did A LOT to re-brand their image as it was sexy and funny instead of the usual too sweet ‘send your valentine flowers”. May not have gotten a lot of buzz, which is your point, but it was fresh and contemporary. At our Superbowl party it made us women laugh and the men’s chins drop.
